My goal this year is to show teachers at Monaview and Welcome how to utilize Discovery Ed Techbook and create assignments for students. Here is a flyer about the iPad and Techbook.
Discovery Education is a fabulous resource for students and teachers.
1. You need to know your students log-in information before they can access the resources.
2. Log-in to your Discovery Education account.
3. Click on Classroom Manager.
4. Go to My Students and click Print Roster.
5. You will see your students’ log-in information.
6. Cut the roster into individual strips so the students can have their log-in information. Keep it in a secure place.
7. Now your students can access the wonderful features of Discovery Education.
Here is a short video showing students using Science Techbook in 3rd grade.
Science was always a difficult subject for me when I was in school. Discovery Education looks like a great and safe resource for students to use to learn more about various topics and to make learning about science in the world more fun and memorable. This would be a great tool to even use in my 4K class!
This would be so cool to be able to really take advantage of all that Discovery Ed has to offer. Right now I stuck in download videos and show them to the class mode as I teach at a non-title I school. Perhaps I learn more that I can make use of in this situation.
Fran came in to my classroom and taught my students and myself about TechBook. They were absolutely amazed! They were so excited that every time we had a tiny bit of down time between lessons, they wanted to get on it. I have planned for my students to use this great resource this week (or next week because of the snow) when I’m teaching about Earth’s Materials. It not only has videos, but it also has text for the kids to read. Each unit is aligned with state standards/common core so you know the kids are going to receive the most accurate information for your grade level.
